BRUSSELS - The influenza A was not only a "false pandemic" but was orchestrated by pharmaceutical companies to make billions of euro from the sale of medicines and vaccines . The accusation comes from Wodarg Wolfgang, the German president of the Health Committee of the Council of Europe yesterday called for a thorough investigation on the matter. According Wodarg (former member of the SPD - the German Socialists - physician and epidemiologist) pharmaceutical companies would influence the decision of the World Health Organization to declare the AIDS pandemic, including infiltrating its men in the organization. Result: the multinational drug companies have amassed "huge profits" without any financial risk, as governments around the world have spent millions of dollars in the purchase of vaccine for an infection that was in fact much less aggressive than a normal flu.

The allegations of the Council of Europe (who described the case of influenza A as "one of the biggest health scandals" of the century) comes as governments across the world are trying to get rid of the millions of doses of vaccine ordered and has not been used: one thinks that France has purchased 94milioni for a population of about 63milioni inhabitants. But Italy now has to decide not to "sell out" the government has purchased 24 million doses of vaccine from Novartis. Cost: about € 184 million.
